Mr. Barner founded Tabernacle while in the hospital from a massive heart attack in 2021. As he was a patient at trinity East he was placed in a hallway temporally for room transition, and a woman who recognized him from different social media outlets, asked him if he could pray for her.
She went on to tell the story of how she had not attended church in decades and that she was hurt in church and refused to go back but still believed in God.
Mr. Barner prayed for her and within hours she passed away from COVID-19. It was at this moment that Tabernacle was birthed, because as we look in Exodus Chapter 40, the children of Israel weren't in a physical building with their encounter with God but a tabernacle.
The Tabernacle concept stands true today, in that we all can encounter God outside of the church walls, no matter where we are.
Tabernacle exists to display the love of God to all who are connected, and to show that there is still power serving in and out of the house of God.
